Early this morning it was COLD and the strong winds blowing from every direction made it much colder! But the sun stayed out and helped to make the day perfect for runners and walkers. A total of 61 participants crossed the finish line. The overall winner was Stephanie Wetzel with a winning time of 20:01 and Christian Bedell was the top male finisher with a time of 20:31. The top walker was Judith Yeary with a time of 38:26. The ‘Middle of the Pack’ award went to Debra Taylor. These four winners all received a frozen turkey!
One of the real nice features of the Gasping Gobbler is the delicious lunch for all of the runners/walkers and spectators at the VFW Hall. A great group of volunteers work hard every year to cook-up some good chili, chowder, soup and treats. Not only is the Gasping Gobbler a healthy way to spend the Saturday before Thanksgiving, but it is a fundraiser for the Lovell Recreation Department. Thanks to everyone who participated!
