Happy 236th Birthday!

In 1921, Gen. John A. Lejeune issued Marine Corps Order NO. 47, Series 1921. The order summarized the history, mission and tradition of the Corps. It also directed that the order be read to all Marines on 10 November of each year to honor the founding of the Marine Corps. This day is very much a special one for U. S. Marines throughout the world.

A nod of appreciation to the Marines (and other services) in our family and to the many Marines in Lovell and western Maine.

Lovell’s Veterans Day observance will take place at 12:15 tomorrow, November 11th, at the Memorial in Lovell Village. There will be a free lunch immediately following the ceremony at the VFW Hall on Smarts Hill Road. Hope to see everyone there!
